A five-week series that will lay the foundations to equip participants to build skills and develop ideas. Led by experts in their field, this series of workshops will be fun, interactive and a great introduction to being enterprising.

The series is free to attend and will include the following sessions. You can book onto individual sessions, but we strongly encourage participants to attend the whole series to get the maximum learning experience.
- An introduction to Emerge and the relevance of being enterprising
- What is your passion and values
- What is a good problem to solve
- What is market research and validation
- What is the process of building a business and what is a good model to use
What you’ll learn:
- Awareness of the Emerge: be enterprising brand and the upcoming schedule of activities
- How to build skills and develop ideas that are enterprising and consolidate Sheffield Graduate Attributes
- Confident about self-worth and the value you have to give
- Process of identifying and defining problems
- Techniques to critically appraise ideas
- Introduce model canvases that will support idea and venture building
- Key ingredients to building a sustainable, viable, scalable business
Who it’s for:
- Anyone! Open to all students and recent graduates, from all faculties, whether you are experienced or a newbie and just curious to get involved, everyone is welcome
- Ideal for those who would like to learn what it means to be enterprising and get started with identifying problems worth solving and developing meaningful solutions
