How to access Google Calendar

You can access your University Google Calendar as follows:

  1. Log into MUSE with your University login details
  2. Select My services
  3. Select Google Calendar

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. Click any time on the calendar that doesn't already have an event scheduled.
  3. Add a title to the event
  4. If you would like to change the duration of the meeting then click on the time.
  5. To invite any guests click on "add guests" and then type their email address.
  6. If you would like to meet virtually, click "add Google Meet video conferencing" which will create a virtual link.
  7. Click Save.

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. On the left-hand side, type the staff member's name or email underneath the "meet with" section.
  3. Select the correct staff member.
  4. You should now be viewing their calendar.
    *To schedule a meeting with them, Click on a spare timeslot to create an event.

  1. Find the event you wish to change and select it.
  2. Select the pencil icon located at the top.

     3. Here you're able to change the date, date & add guests.
     4. If you click more actions located at the top, you'll receive more options to modify your event.

Accessing Calendar on the go

Android Devices

To add a Google account to your phone

  1. Open your phone's settings app.
  2. Tap Accounts. If you don't see 'Accounts', tap Users and accounts.
  3. At the bottom, tap Add account.
  4. Tap the type of account that you want to add.
  5. To add your Google Account, tap Google. When you sign in with a Google Account, the email, contacts, calendar events and other data associated with that account automatically sync with your phone.
  6. To add a different personal account, tap Personal (IMAP) or Personal (POP3). You'd generally choose these if you use an email program like Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail. 
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    If you're adding accounts, you may need to enter your phone's pattern, PIN or password for security.

Apple Devices

In order to get your University Calendar events to appear on your iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) calendar follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Settings and select Accounts & Passwords
  2. Select Add Account
  3. Select Google and enter your university email address
  4. You will then be asked to sign into MUSE
  5. Once you're logged in, select the services you would like to activate. Ensure Calendars is active.

  1. Select the settings cog located in the top-right.
  2. Select settings.

     3. If you would like to change your primary timezone select your new timezone from the dropdown.
     4. If you would like to add an additional timezone select "Display secondary time zone".
     5. Once this has been checked you will need to select your additional timezone from the secondary time zone dropdown box.
