Description
Join us for an information-gathering exercise to harness expertise from people with insights about co-producing research. This online event will take place on Thursday 5th December 2024 0930-1100. Sign up via Eventbrite on the link below.
Many researchers and communities want to work together. But sometimes the systems make it harder to do co-produced research. At this event we will launch our ‘Call for Evidence and Ideas’ to crowdsource collective intelligence on what goes wrong, what goes well, and what needs to change in universities and academic funding and policy processes. How can we make co-produced research more equitable, fairer, and ‘count’ for more?
The Call for Evidence and Ideas is one way the Co-Production Futures Inquiry will make proposals to address barriers to participatory and co-produced research within universities. This event will:
- Explain why the Co-Pro Futures Inquiry is needed
- Invite people to contribute their insights to our Call for Evidence and Ideas
- Offer evidence and ideas from leading sector organisations supporting the Inquiry
The event is aimed at researchers, professional service staff, university research leaders and co-production partners who care about getting the conditions for co-produced and participatory research right, and who might have evidence and ideas to contribute to our collective intelligence gathering exercise.
The Co-Production Futures Inquiry is a two-year project (2024-2026) funded by Research England Participatory Research Funds at the Universities of Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield. The Co-leads are Professor Catherine Durose, Heseltine Institute at the University of Liverpool, Professor Liz Richardson, Department of Politics at the University of Manchester and Professor Beth Perry, Urban Institute at the University of Sheffield.
The event is online only. For further information, contact v.l.simpson@sheffield.ac.uk
