Loren joined the Department of Sociological Studies in 2023 as a Research Associate on an ESRC funded project. She completed a BSC (Hons) in Psychology at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and MSc in Investigative Psychology at the University of Huddersfield. This was followed by the completion of her PhD in Criminology at the University of Huddersfield. Loren’s thesis focused on the applicability of narrative criminology with a cross-national sample of offenders and the general population.

Loren is currently working on the ‘Understanding criminality in the private rented sector and co-producing solutions’ 2023-2026 ESRC funded project. Loren is working alongside Dr Xavier L’Hoiry from the University of Sheffield as well as in partnership with the University of York, University of Northumbria and a housing charity based in West Yorkshire.
