Lydia Messenger

I’m Lydia and I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2021 in English Literature. I loved Sheffield the moment I stepped foot in the city of steel. The friendliness exuberated throughout the city, immediately making me feel at home. Walking onto campus, this feeling sustained, reassuring me that making Sheffield my firm choice was the right decision. 

The social opportunities at the University of Sheffield are what made my experience as a student so memorable. There is so much on offer, in terms of clubs and societies, offering opportunities to meet your lifelong friends, a key part of your student experience. My involvement in campus league sport is how I met some of my closest friends.

The campus’s location also persuaded me to study here, due to its proximity to both the heart of the city as well as the breath-taking countryside. Sheffield inhabits the best of both worlds, so if you are either a country bumpkin, or a city dweller, our city offers an environment to suit everyone.

Choosing the right university can be an overwhelming process, and I am very much looking forward to guiding you, as potential future students, through this process, reassuring you and answering any burning questions you may have.
