'Pocket Politics' is a new podcast set up collaboratively by Pol Soc and the Department of Politics and International Relations. Students from the department are invited to take part in podcast training sessions, delivered by departmental staff and Pol Soc throughout the year, which provide Sheffield undergraduates with the opportunity to explore contemporary topics by interviewing researchers and practitioners, as well as to learn new skills.
The first podcast in the series is with Dr Tom Johnson, whose research focuses on Chinese politics and the state-society relations in China. Student interviewers Sally Lai, Olive Enokido-Lineham, MinhAnh Nguyễn, Katie Burtenshaw and Phoebe Gergely discuss the 2019 protests in Hong Kong with Dr Johnson as well as with student Urvi Booklay.
