Hike to Bamford

Rocky outcrops and green hills in Padley Gorge near Hathersage

Event details

22 April 2023, 10:00am
Meet at Sheffield station under the departure boards at 9:50am

Description

After the first successful collaboration with Global Campus, here we come with another one - Easter Edition. We’ll start by catching a train from Sheffield station out to Bamford. From there we will be crossing by the Bamford Village before climbing up the Bamford Edge which offers fantastic views of the Peak District, especially Ladybower Reservoir (you can click some Instagram-worthy pictures here). We will walk along the edge and then start walking downhill towards the Reservoir (another good spot for clicking pictures). We will cross the Reservoir and start descending a scenic route into the village of Hope. This is where the walk will finish, and where there are options to catch the train straight back to Sheffield or stop for a while in a local pub.

Length: 6.7 miles / 10.83 km (medium difficulty)
