Jingjing Wang

Jingjing Wang (Amy) is a PhD student from the School of the Architecture, she has interior design, graphic and fashion design background; Amy completed her masters study in the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) with Distinction; she is the research assistant in ODESSA project in the University of Sheffield. She was a MA interior design teaching assistant in UCLan, also works for a publishing company in Beijing as an art editor and an illustrator for 3 years.

Amy’s PhD research is focusing on Cohousing communities and sustainable living. The research will explore social aspects, sustainable design features, lifetime homes and ageing, and affordability of cohousing community. This research aims to examine the timeline and consequences of a green agenda moving towards a sustainable living model, by exploring debates around cohousing and sustainable communities.

With the experience of working in different projects along with the backing of research knowledge in architecture and interior design, Amy’s research inquiry domains include:

• Cohousing design and development;
• Social housing studies；
• Environmental sustainable design and energy efficiency;
• Inclusive design and lifetime homes;
• Ageing in place.
