IEEE Entrepreneurship, led by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), is dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation within the global IEEE community.
Each year, numerous events are organized by local IEEE Entrepreneurship ambassadors in 170 countries around the world. These events include local pitch competitions for start-ups, with the top 3 winning teams advancing to the next stages.
The top 8 teams from regional competitions are then selected to participate in the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, distinguished figures from the entrepreneurship world choose the top 4 teams to take part in the IEEE R8 Pitch Final, which was held at R8 SYP 2024, in Grenoble.
The IEEE R8 Students & Young Professionals Congress, also known as R8 SYP Congress, is one of the most renowned and significant events in Region 8. It is held every 2 years and brings together students and young professionals in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) from all sections in Region 8.
"Attending SYP was an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, pitch our ideas to a broader audience, and make valuable connections that will greatly benefit our project. I was inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of everyone present.

Key milestones over the past few months
MoveCritic was founded in December of last year. In just 6 months, they have released their first product demo, which has sparked significant interest from the public and medical professionals.
"As a result, we have held several meetings with potential investors, resulting in securing contacts with healthcare angels.
Thanks to these connections, we have lined up a number of potential customers. We are also a fully registered company and have managed to develop a second MVP, that we share during discussions with our potential customers and investors. Meanwhile, we are developing our AI technology".
Support and development
"Emerge supported us both indirectly and directly. They organized sessions and workshops to help not only our team but also everyone who participated. We learned important things such as how to secure funding at various stages and what type of business is most appropriate for our product.
We also heard many success stories from amazing speakers who shared their tips on running a business. Additionally, we met many inspirational people throughout our involvement with Emerge.
They also helped us with our traction by introducing us to many contacts in the healthcare industry. Ultimately, thanks to Emerge as they helped us secure funds that cover travel costs. The support we have received from Emerge is immense, and thanks to them, we were not only able to develop our business further but also grow as a team".
