What can you expect at the Clearing open day?

Meet your departmental tutor, chat to current students, go on tours of the campus and accommodation, and find out what Sheffield is all about.

The day runs between 10am and 4pm. During the lunch break, representatives from various student service teams (including Admissions, Accommodation, Access, Careers and Employability, Safety on Campus, Fees and Funding, the Students’ Union, and Disability & Dyslexia Support) will be on-hand to provide advice and guidance to visitors on a one-to-one basis.

Current students will be available to discuss their experiences of studying at the University. They can provide you with lots of helpful hints and tips about starting at Sheffield.

We ask all visitors to arrive and sign in at The Diamond between 10am and 10:30am. A welcome talk will begin at 10.30am, and department meetings start at 11am. Please see below for a full programme of the day, and read our FAQs for further important information.

Other ways to visit

If you're unable to attend our Clearing open day, we will also run Clearing campus tours on Friday 16, and Monday 19 August.

These tours are a great opportunity to visit some of the most widely-used facilities on campus, with the option to extend your visit with a tour of our city centre or sports facilities, or accommodation too. Please allow 90 minutes for the campus tour, and an additional hour if you wish to add one of these two optional extensions.

These tours will be delivered from our Students’ Union building. We will email you with more details after you have completed your booking, and we ask that you please read our Campus tours FAQs.
