Farhat specialises in interconnected supply chain and next-gen manufacturing facilities, with a focus on Industry 4.0 technologies, including 5G for manufacturing, IoT, Knowledge Management Systems, Blockchains for manufacturing and Real-Time control of machines. His primary research involves the development and integration of these cutting-edge technologies into enterprise systems such as ERP, PLM and MES. Farhat has collaborated with Aerospace and Defence companies, including BAE Systems Air, MBDA, Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems, on commercial research projects.
Farhat holds a PhD in Visible Light Communication Systems and Physical Layer from the University of Huddersfield, along with an MSc in Embedded Systems. His extensive background encompasses prior experience as an Embedded Engineer in a medical device company, where his role centred on Research and Development.
