- Profile
-
Adrian joined the AMRC in 2002, having previously studied for a PhD at the University of Birmingham on conventional and non-conventional machining of gamma titanium aluminide sponsored by Rolls-Royce and Sandvik Coromant. He also holds a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering, an MPhil in the Science and Engineering of Materials and is a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Adrian has been awarded the IMechE’s Thatcher Brothers award for best paper on a manufacturing engineering subject and the IMechE’s Joesph Whitworth award for best paper on engineering production.
Adrian is currently a Technical Fellow within the AMRC NW additive manufacturing group. Adrian has extensive applied research experience in the metallurgical responses of materials to processing and is currently working on the influence of additive manufacturing techniques on component integrity.
- Research interests
-
Adrian’s research interests include additive manufacturing, powder characterisation, surface integrity and machining processes for additive manufacture, residual stress formation and novel materials processing.
