The 9th World Conference on Structural Control & Monitoring (9WCSCM)

The World Conference on Structural Control and Monitoring (WCSCM) is a major international event focusing on various technologies used to monitor and improve the performance of buildings and other civil infrastructure in response to stresses like earthquakes, wind, and human activity.

This is the first time the conference will be held in the UK and it will see engineers, scientists, and construction professionals from all over the world gather to explore new technologies for monitoring health, reducing vibration, and even adapting structures to changing conditions.

This prestigious conference, having traversed continents with previous events in the US, Europe, and Asia, makes its debut in the UK, with Sheffield taking centre stage. Sheffield is one of the largest cities in Yorkshire, the largest county in the UK and is made up of 61% green space making it the greenest city in Europe. Shortlisted for the UK City of Culture in 2013, the city is home to a vibrant music scene, a Walk of Fame and approximately 1,100 historically important buildings.
