Impact award nomination for Cayenna Ponchione-Bailey

The Leverhulme Trust funded research project of Cayenna Ponchione-Bailey on Orchestral Music of Afghanistan is nominated for the Early Career Researcher Impact Award of the University of Sheffield. Cayenna’s research is focused on documenting the historical and contemporary activities of the Orchestras of Afghanistan as well as their social and political significance. Combining this research with her role as Conducting Fellow of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra she collaborates with musical colleagues now in exile to create opportunities for musicians and composers of Afghanistan to have their music and voices heard.
