Description
This module aims to enable students with beginners' level Mandarin Chinese (ca. 450 Chinese characters) to acquire increasingly complex practical language skills.
Learning outcomes
- Read and write the ca. 900 Chinese characters used in the module.
- Read and understand passages using the vocabulary and the grammatical structures introduced and revised in the module.
- Use the vocabulary and the grammatical structures to translate into and form Chinese with reasonable accuracy.
- Use the vocabulary and the grammatical structures to compose short narratives in Chinese.
- Listen to and extract information from increasingly complex spoken Chinese and hold equivalent levels of conversation on topics related to daily life.
