Transcripts of Examination Results
Current students (including graduates until 12 months from graduation) may request an official Transcript of Qualifications from the Student Services Information Desk website. These documents are not intended as a replacement for the computer-generated Statements of Examination Results made available to students from within MUSE after each semester's examination period. Students should only need to request an official transcript for employment/postgraduate applications, etc, and should allow up to 15 days for the document to be prepared.
Former students may request a Transcript of Qualifications (a charge is made). This is requested through the Student Services Information Desk (SSiD) website. SSiD deal with the enquiry unless the student record is incomplete, in which case the request is referred to the Taught Programmes Office. The request may take up to 6 weeks to process. Please note that where results data has not been supplied and loaded onto the central student records system, transcripts cannot be supplied centrally and will need to remain a departmental responsibility; this is often the case for former taught postgraduate students. As an alternative, SSiD can provide a Confirming Letter which gives proof of attendance and study details (a charge is made).
Replacement Degree Certificates
If a former student has genuinely lost their original degree certificate and requires a replacement, this can be provided by the Taught Programmes Office. A charge is made and the replacement certificate is marked as such. Graduates should complete a request for a Replacement Degree Certificate through the Student Services Information Desk website.
Diploma supplements in a format consistent with guidelines compiled by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES to improve international recognition of academic and professional qualifications, can be provided in conjunction with a Transcript of Examination Results via the Student Services Information Desk website. Graduates seeking employment in other countries within the EU may find this document particularly helpful.
Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)
The Higher Education Achievement Report or 'HEAR' provides a single comprehensive record of students’ university achievements during their period of study for a higher education qualification. It is primarily an electronic document that adheres to a nationally standardised template, and is validated by the Academic Registrar. The HEAR template mirrors the structure of the Diploma Supplement and incorporates both an enhanced academic transcript and additional information about verified extra-curricular achievements. Initially, it applies to undergraduate studies - including Integrated Masters - only, though it may be widened out to other levels in due course. It will be made available to students electronically from the point of entry onwards, and will become a static document that captures more fully the totality of their achievements upon completion of their academic programme.
Verification of Awards/Results for External Agencies
The Student Services Information Desk provides a verification service to external agencies such as employers, other educational institutions, etc, who may request confirmation that the award of a degree to a named individual is valid.
