About CiCS

Corporate Information and Computing Services


We are an innovative and influential department pursuing excellence in a diverse range of IT and business services designed to support learning, teaching and research at the University of Sheffield.

We are committed to developing new services built on cutting edge technologies, whilst simultaneously ensuring staff and students have consistent, dependable services they can rely on.

CiCS is managed by the CiCS Executive Team. Each member of the Executive Team is responsible for a specific area, but in addition they also have 'cross-cutting' responsibilities for the whole department.

Governance


The Executive Team is responsible for expressing the vision and overall mission of the department and sets the values and ‘tone’ of the department. Operationally, CiCS services are divided into seven service areas each managed by a service manager.

Strategically, each service manager organises a service advisory group, which is independently chaired and brings together representatives from across the University to shape and influence the development of CiCS services.

Service managers and the Executive Team meet regularly in Service Strategy Board to plan and prioritise the ongoing development of CiCS services.
