The University of Sheffield
Prospective International Students

Friday 13th April 2007

Easter break. 3 weeks of laziness, telly and nice weather (well for Britain!). I´m fortunate enough to have quite a lot of relatives in England, and so for 2 weeks I stayed in Stockport with my aunt. I do wish I could have gone back to Tokyo, but realistically speaking it is only 3 weeks and to fly back for such a short period of time is not worth it.

And exams! That was the plan, to start revising for exams… In my first year (remember I do medicine and they have their own universe) I only have summer exams, so basically I am supposed to be reviewing an entire years worth of work. The reason I came back to Sheffield a week before was so that I could get some more revision with extra resources in, but alas, that plan has failed miserably. There are far too many distractions here! A lot of the international students are still around, so there are plenty of people to hang out with and chill and before you know it the day has gone! I´m not complaining or anything! I love always having things to do, people to meet, new and old alike, but at the end of each night I make a resolution that the next day I will at least pick up a text book. Hopefully sometime today.

Also the girls that I live with are now back, so lets just say we had plenty of reason to celebrate! I mean we haven´t seen each other in almost 3 whole weeks. These girls are my family here, and it´s silly how much I miss them at times!

So for the remaining 2 days of my Easter break I promise myself that I will start revising the respiratory module and finish writing up that odd lecture or two I forgot to. And next week has to be that last week I am allowed out. I´m being serious! Or at least trying to. Wish me luck on this one.
