Teachers and advisers
We have a number of ways that we can help and support teachers and advisers and keep you up-to-date with the University.
Advancing Access
The University of Sheffield is a partner in Advancing Access, a collaboration between 24 leading universities working with schools and colleges to support students' progression to Russell Group universities. The partnership achieves this by providing free, high-quality resources for teachers and learners, online and offline Continuous Professional Development (CPD) conferences, CPD sessions delivered in schools and colleges and a regularly updated blog. It supports teachers and careers advisers to guide young people who are making their key stage 4, key stage 5 and university choices.
The free CPD resources cover topics such as
-
Writing effective UCAS references
-
Supporting students with personal statements
-
Post-16 and post-18 choices
-
Helping students with interviews and additional admissions tests
-
Understanding contextual admissions policies
You can access the online resources directly at the Advancing Access website
