- The popular and free-to-attend family fayre will return to Weston Park in Sheffield on Sunday 19 May 2023 11am - 5pm
- The Fayre will host a range of events, including a fun fair, circus acts, comedy, live music, food stalls and more
- Delivered in association with the University of Sheffield and Sheffield City Council.
Following last year’s successful event that welcomed over 10,000 people to Sheffield’s Weston Park, Sheffield City Council, supported by the University of Sheffield, are excited to bring Weston Park May Fayre back for 2024.
The Fayre will see more street performers and entertainment acts than ever before, including circus entertainers, live music and interactive stalls for family activities. Exhibitors, bar and food vendors, artisan crafts stalls and a children’s fun fair will also be there on the day. Acts include:
- Val and Halla - these two Abba-obsessed Scandinavians, travelling in their musical Viking longboat, plunder, pillage and pirouette their way through Weston Park.
- Elton Wrong - a light-hearted take on the culture of tribute acts - will drive a white piano whilst belting out classic songs just like a rocket man, bringing an instant stadium gig to the park.
- The incredible Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band from India will also be returning for 2024 to play a wide variety of music from Rajasthan, including folk songs, Bollywood hits, spiritual qawwali and Bhangra beats, as well as sci-fi and intergalactic funk and even some much loved pop songs, to celebrate the evocative and joyous music of Rajasthan.
- The Mutha Truckers will deliver interactive, family fun. The heroines of haulage will deliver an exciting and adventurous whirlwind of CB Radio jive, line dancing’ and rip roaring truckin’ songs.
- Join Jolly Holiday and the Jolly duo as Big Mam and daughter Dolly together with their puppet companions Nanna and Wee Dad. With 1950s music and seaside sound effects, the Jolly's infectious dance routines and witty banter will cajole the audience into spontaneous on the street conga, hokey cokey and rock ‘n’ roll dancing.
