RAG stands for 'Raising and Giving' and that is exactly what we do!
Our role is to put on events that raise money for charitable causes, from epic Treasure Hunts that race across Europe (T.H.E.) to nocturnal ramblings through the Peak District (Spiderwalk). Or simply by proudly taking our infamous bright pink collection buckets into the local community for support.
There is an opportunity for everyone to participate and it’s important to us that we’re accessible to all. We love the community that we become a part of as students, so we aim to donate 85% of our annual total to local charities in South Yorkshire and the North Derbyshire area.
Last year we raised £187,110, worked with 104 clubs & societies, supported 110 different charities - and we had a lot of fun doing it. Come along to one of our events or get more involved by becoming a RAG Rep or Adopting a Charity!

Bummit students are a committee in their own right, linked to RAG through fundraising for good causes. Bummit organise two charity hitch-hikes: Baby Bummit, the epic-UK hitch-hike (this year going to Brighton) and Big Bummit, the legendary European hitch-hike which takes place in March. Visit www.bummit.co.uk and 'Like' 'Bummit 2013' on Facebook for the latest information, and to find out how to get involved as a Bummiting volunteer!
