Coming to an event at The University of Sheffield?
The University of Sheffield hosts a large number of events throughout the year, such as high profile lectures, concerts, open days, art exhibitions and more. The majority of our public events are free of charge and open to all. Some require a ticket so please check the individual event listing for details.
Access and special requirements
Should you require assistance with access to a particular building, or have any other special requirements, please discuss your individual needs with the organiser of the event you are attending.
Food and drink
Refreshments may be provided at certain events. Please check with the event organiser for clarification. The University has a number of catering outlets on campus should you require food and drink. To find out more, visit WithUS.

Parking
Secure, convenient parking is available at Q Park on Durham Road. Park for as little as £5 all day at the weekend and pre-book to take advantage of evening rates of £3.

Smoking is not permitted in any University of Sheffield building.

Firth Hall is the venue for many of our concerts, lectures, open days and exhibitions as well as weddings and formal dinners and it is located in Firth Court, the old red brick building on Western Bank (further information).

A 300-seat auditorium adjoining the Dainton (Chemistry) building just off Brook Hill Roundabout. As well as academic use, this theatre is a popular venue for public lectures.

A 390-seat auditorium, suitable for meetings, lectures and film shows. Facilities include a projection booth, a large screen, lectern and stage.
The Auditorium is part of the Students Union but is quite frequently used by the University for public lectures.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Wolfson Foundation, a major bequest from a former graduate and many smaller donations to the University's Alumni Foundation, this attractive space has been restored to the condition it was in when the Grade II listed building opened in 1959, and upgraded with 21st century systems.

- Saturday 12pm until 6pm (excluding holidays)
