MOLE and MOLE 2 Update News 2012
MOLE 2 Upgrade (service unavailable 4th - 9th July)
To help us continue to deliver excellence in our support for learning and teaching we implemented the new virtual learning environment MOLE 2. Now to ensure MOLE 2 remains state of the art it is necessary to perform a significant upgrade twice a year. The last upgrade was in February, the coming one is in July.
MOLE 2 will be shut down from 5pm on Wednesday 4th July and will be returned to service by 9am Monday 9th July. Full details about the upgrade, including the benefits and the timing are available via the link below:
Annual Course Rollover
This year, the rollover only affect users who are currently using MOLE 2. Shortly after the MOLE 2 upgrade we will begin the annual course rollover, in which all courses in MOLE 2 are moved from one year to the next.
The rollover takes place over a two week period, during which each department that has courses in MOLE 2 will see a small period of unavailability. We will provide direct comms with each
department affected nearer the time. For more details see the link below:
(Users currently on MOLE will not have a rollover on MOLE this year, as all your courses are being moved to MOLE 2, which is the same as a rollover).
All Courses Moved to MOLE 2
Over the summer CiCS will complete the migration of courses from MOLE to MOLE 2. This means that all departments' courses will be in MOLE 2 and from September, all students will see the benefits of the state of the art virtual learning environment. We will not be switching off the original MOLE at this stage as access to some legacy course materials may still be required. However, the MOLE icon will be removed from MUSE and MOLE itself will only be available via MOLE 2 (where needed).
