Applications for postgraduate research programmes
It is important to apply as early as possible as demand for places on postgraduate research degree programmes often exceeds the number of places available. You do not need to wait for final examination results or references before you apply for a study place.
Applications for these degree programmes must be made using the University's online application system.
There is no application fee to apply for a postgraduate research degree programme including MPhil, PhD or PhD with Integrated Masters programmes. Postgraduate research degree programmes can begin at different times throughout the academic year. The start date has to be agreed with your PhD supervisor.

Entrance requirements

MD Research Degrees
An MD is a higher research degree open to eligible medically qualified doctors, with a usual duration of two years minimum for full time study. Please note, if you are a graduate in Medicine and wish to apply for an MD research degree, this can't be done online or by using the PG application form.
