Exhibition Gallery
Come and see the restored Western Bank Library Exhibition Gallery! Thanks to a generous grant from the Wolfson Foundation, a major bequest from a former graduate and many smaller donations to the University's Alumni Foundation, this attractive space has been restored to the condition it was in when the Grade II listed building opened in 1959, and upgraded with 21st century systems.

Yorkshire Voices
4 June to 17 August 2013
Yorkshire Voices explores what it means to write in the local dialect. Based on archive material generously donated by authors and their families, this exhibition celebrates the work of four very different writers: novelist Arthur Eaglestone, pitman and poet Tom Hague, novelist and playwright Barry Hines, singer and poet Cathy Lovett. Each writes about a different time and a different part of Yorkshire, and their reasons for writing differ. But each captures something about the people of Yorkshire and the way they speak.
